Youth Ministry Goals and Objectives

The Lewisville Church of Christ youth ministry is dedicated to developing an environment of oneness, while focusing on the spiritual condition of one another and reaching out to the lost. (Written by the youth, August 2002)

Youth ministry – There are many different thoughts on this subject. Here at the Lewisville Church of Christ it is understood that the youth ministry means YOUTH in MINISTRY. We are not inward focused, we are ministry focused. We believe that young people are a part of the church today not just tomorrow.

Please take a look at our Family Ministry Goals and Objectives. We are working hard to intertwine the two ministries. You cannot have a successful youth ministry without the involvement of the entire family!

Goals:

	Increase in Spiritual Maturity
	Evangelism
	Developing Leaders
	Promoting Unity and Fellowship with Christian Teens

Workable areas of development:

Bible Classes: Our Bible classes are designed to cover all aspects of Christian living. We have textual studies and topical studies on a rotated basis.

Sunday Night Devotional: This is a get together, hosted by parents or care groups, which consists of eating dinner and providing a good devotional. The devotional is filled with singing, prayers, and a lesson from God’s word.

Thursday Night Bible Studies: This is a time when we have great group Bible study.

Leadership Training for Christ: LTC gives our young people an incredible opportunity to study the Bible as they prepare for Bible Bowl and other events.

Evangelism Classes: Through the year we will offer opportunities for our young people to be involved in a class that will equip them to lead others to Christ.

Mission Efforts: Each summer we would like to take a mission trip to spread the Good News.

Work Camp: Young people working together on different projects for our members and in the community.

Vacation Bible School: VBS is an incredible tool for reaching the lost.

Door Knocking: Once a month we spend a Saturday morning knocking doors and setting up Bible studies.

Leadership Retreat: This is an annual event in which we work with our “older” youth in areas of leadership. This is hand tailored to the needs of the Lewisville Youth Ministry.

Summer Youth Series: This is a night that youth groups from around the area meet and worship together.

Future Preacher Training Camp: This is a camp designed for young men who are interested in learning how to preach and do evangelism.

Church Camp: As always, our summer camp provides an excellent opportunity for our teens to grow spiritually, meet other Christian teens, and have a lot of fun!

Retreats: We take several retreats throughout the year. Each retreat will have a specific purpose. Some of the retreats will have different congregations involved. Some retreats will be just our youth.

Youth Rallies: We will travel to several youth rallies where teens from all over meet to worship together.
